Placebirth: Moto'otua, Samoa. My mother was born on 30th September 1975. She is from the village of Sinamoga Apia,Samoa. My mother arrived to New Zealand in 2000. She got here on a plane from Samoa to Nz on September 20th 2000. My mothers grandma and her great grandma both came to New Zealand a long time ago, they came to New zealand on a boat. My mothers religion is Christian, this religion has impacted my mum in many ways. When my mother was in Samoa she had a hard time trying to raise up my sister,Tracy, by herself. So she would pray to God and ask for some sort of help. Then after many prayers, a miracle happened, my mother heard on the radio that they were looking for a group of people to travel to New Zealand and work there. So my mother went and applied, a few months later my mothers application had been accepted and she was on her way to New Zealand. My mothers hobbies was Netball, weaving and cooking. My mothers house as a child was very bad, she had lived in a fale (house) that were made from woods, sticks, branches. They used taro leaves for the roof as well. She grew up with a lot of people in her household. But although their house wasnt all that fancy my mother loved her house, they would pray together, eat together, talk together in that house. Which is why my mother loved it despite of what her house looked like. One of my mothers earliest memory that she has is when we all went to Samoa together and got spend some quality time with our family. What my mother remembers about her parents is their love and gratitude. Her parents were very good people, they were very merciful and kindful. She loved how resilient her parents were and how they would do try and do everthing they could for her and her siblings.
